President Barack Obama: All U.S. combat troops to come home from Iraq by end of year

Bring them Home!

President Obama said, “I can report that, as promised, the rest of our troops in Iraq will come home by the end of the year,” Obama said. “After nearly nine years, America‘s war in Iraq will be over.”

What welcome news. Bring them home. Let’s bring them home from Afghanistan too. What a great declaration. This will make a lot of military and their families Holiday that much more worth celebrating.

About Beltsville Beacon
We are based in Beltsville, Maryland which is in Prince George’s County. Beltsville is a suburb of the Capitol of the United States of America, Washington, D.C. The Beltsville Beacon aims to act as that flashing light used to warn ships, that radio transmitter that continuously broadcasts a signal that aircraft use for guidance and that fire on the hill to act as a signal or warning. Information is power and my goal is to inform and get informed. From time to time a story or event will inspire me to post it and then offer my own opinion. I am very interested in education. The Prince George’s County Maryland Public School system is in trouble. Budget cuts will not help. We are headed towards a downward spiral. Cutting teachers will increase the school size. This will most likely lead to a decrease in test scores, which will lead to an increase in the drop out rate ultimately causing the crime rate to increase. I remain optimistic. No gloom and doom just a great opportunity to improve. And there is no time like the present to get started. We all can do a little more to make things better.
